Task
Raise awareness and promote the work of human rights defenders (HRD) among the general public in Russia. Highlight the human rights violations HRDs are subjected to. Build solidarity with, and support of, Russian HRDs. Support individual HRDs at risk. Grow larger supporter base for HRDs and for AI in Russia
Ideas and solutions
Project is timed to FIFA World Cup 2018 and features 11 individual profiles of human rights defenders in Russia from regions which world cup football games are being played as those who are not afraid to speak out and do their work irrespective of circumstances. It builds on positive messaging representing HRDs as people who are BRAVE to tackle human rights abuses, often with risks to their lives, freedom and reputation. The indicator of the success of the project was the number of users sharing the reference and the number of signed petitions
